Goa Tourist Season 2025-26 Begins with New International Flights

Goa is Back! Goa Tourist Season Kicks Off with Russian Charter Flights & New Connections

Welcome back to the sunshine state! The moment we’ve all been waiting for is finally here. Goa’s 2025-2026 tourist season has officially launched, and the energy is already electric. The season kicked off on Thursday, October 2nd, with the arrival of the first charter flight from Russia at the Manohar International Airport in North Goa. Passengers were greeted with a traditional Goan welcome, marking a warm and enthusiastic start to what promises to be a vibrant season.

The arrival of the first international flight signals more than just the start of the tourist season; it reaffirms Goa’s position as a premier global destination. State Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte expressed his excitement, stating, “Goa is ready to welcome tourists with open arms as we step into a vibrant new season”. This sentiment is backed by significant enhancements in infrastructure and safety measures to ensure every visitor experiences the unparalleled warmth of Goan hospitality.

Aeroflot is increasing its operations to nine flights per week, adding three new weekly services from Novosibirsk, Russia, to the existing flights from Moscow and Yekaterinburg. This increase highlights the strong and growing demand for Goa as a top-tier holiday spot. The second charter from Novosibirsk, a 158-seater, is scheduled to land on October 3rd, followed by flights from Yekaterinburg on October 4th and 5th. A larger 296-seat aircraft from Moscow is also expected on October 5th, bringing in even more eager travelers.

But the excitement doesn’t stop with Russia. International connectivity is getting a further boost with the commencement of charter flights from Kazakhstan starting October 25th. This expanded network is expected to cause a significant influx of international tourists, especially as we head into the high-demand year-end holiday season. The tourism department is optimistic that these new connections will play a crucial role in bolstering Goa’s economy, which is heavily dependent on tourism for revenue and employment.

For travelers, this means more options and easier access to Goa’s sandy shores. The period from October to May is the prime tourist season, and the early surge in international arrivals sets a positive tone for the months ahead. With the monsoon rains having washed the landscape clean, Goa is lush, green, and incredibly inviting.

As the season gets underway, you’ll notice the familiar rhythm of Goa returning. The beach shacks, which had closed for the monsoon, are beginning to reopen their doors, ready to serve up delicious seafood and refreshing drinks with a view. The famous Anjuna Flea Market is also buzzing with activity again, offering a treasure trove of unique souvenirs, clothing, and handicrafts. Water sports operators are also gearing up, so whether you’re into jet-skiing, parasailing, or a relaxing boat trip, you’ll find plenty of options to get your adrenaline pumping.

October is a particularly special time to visit. It’s the sweet spot between the monsoon and the peak winter rush. The weather is pleasant, with daytime temperatures hovering between 28.5°C and 32°C and about 9 hours of daily sunshine. There’s only a small chance of a quick shower, so you can spend most of your time outdoors. This is also the mackerel season, so seafood lovers are in for a treat with the freshest catches available at restaurants and shacks across the state.

With fewer crowds than in December and January, you can experience a more authentic side of Goa. The beaches are cleaner and less crowded, allowing you to find your own peaceful corner of paradise. It’s the perfect time for long walks along the shore, exploring the charming villages, and soaking in the laid-back lifestyle that Goa is famous for. So, if you’re planning a trip, now is the time to book. The season has just begun, and the best of Goa awaits you.
